Hi, Everyone!

I've been so busy and fixated with the illustrations for "7531", I forgot to write the newsletter on time for this week. Even if late, I do have some good things to share with you all.

About two months ago, through the Instagram channel, I asked y'all to vote for three of my illustrations in a contest. I was among the 10 winners of said contest, and I have all of you to thank for this achievement. Having won this contest opened the path for many opportunities that are little by little moving forward. I can now share one such opportunity, for I will be presenting those three illustrations in the Gwangju International Art Fair, in Gwangju City, South Korea, from October 10th to the 13th. Once I have more details, I'll gladly share them with you all, and if you happen to be out there in October, go check the show out and send me pictures!

Also happening next month, I will be part of a digital show being set up in Paris, France, for the Art Basel Week with the team of ARTBOXY. That one is quite interesting for many reasons: it will be a digital showcase, it will be during Art Basel Paris, the gallery is in Saint-Germain-des-Prés very close to the Louvre Museum, I won't be there personally but will be represented by three of my favorite illustrations from one of my most underrated books. I love it! As more information is given to me, I'll be sharing it with you all here.

And it's cool that I won't be there directly in neither of these shows, because I will be quite busy in October as well. The release of "7531" is obviously on the table, but there is something else! I will be giving, along side a good colleague of mine, a Dreamcatcher Workshop in Sosua. It will be a basic introductory workshop where, besides giving you a proper introduction to the history behind the art itself, you will learn the basics for weaving a dreamcatcher and some advanced tips a tricks for your creative self to flow with. That's happening on October 5th, at B&B El Mirador al Mar, Sosua, RD. If you want to sign up, you can save your spot HERE.

Angy Abreu

Dominican writer living in the United States.

It is an honor to highlight this wonderful human being. Angy lives in New York, and for years it has been her mission to bring together the underground community of Dominican writers with the World. Through a lot of effort and dedication she has created a very positive outlet on our island's literature, finding and sharing not only opportunities for up-and-coming writers, but also literary workshops, open calls, book clubs, and more.

Her various creative ways to bring together the community have really payed off over the years, as she has been recognized as an integral part of the development of our literature. Her accolades speak for her as much as her incessant strive for better days for our writers.

Certainly someone you want in your path as a writer, if that's your calling as it is mine.
